Our
team was all over this packaging machinery event in Chicago, and
although this show was for machinery, there were a number of conveying
and component related suppliers on hand. In 2 short years
there have
been many new advances in the conveying field, we were able to find
some of the more interesting things you should be aware
of:
| A
belt cooler/pasteurizer infeed system which loads wide belts in a more
even and effective pattern. If you have a wide belt and uneven loading
of containers you should review this product to see if it fits into
your space, as you could get 15-20% more products through your existing
system. www.icwedge.com
|
 | A
new sprocket driven synthetic belt with a solid top surface. With
sanitation issues always growing, this product should be reviewed to
see if sanitation times can re reduced. www.thermodrive.com
|
 | A
new diverter roller type belt aimed at guiding packages to a specific
point without side guides. This system uses rollers rather than
conventional lower plates to activate the positioning of a package.
This belt should be reviewed if your guiding and aligning cost is
high. www.intralox.com
|
 | A new lubrication grouping system
should be reviewed if your plant has multiple bearing locations near
each other. www.vogel-lube.com
|
 |
A new design conveyor which focuses more on sanitation should be
reviewed, if you are looking for new ways of conveyor designs. www.laughlincorporation.com
|
 | If
you need accumulation or buffer for a short period of time, plus first
in/ first out capabilities with a small vertical footprint, then you
should review the offerings at www.hartness.com
|
 | A
new accumulation system should be reviewed if you
have
wrapped or unwrapped products and need holding time for the packaging
area. Concept can be used for many products. www.nercon.com
|
 | A
new retrofit design for spiral conveyors should be reviewed if you are
thinking of changing from metal belts to plastic. This quick change
over reduces downtime and helps offset cost associated with
retrofitting spirals. www.kvpfalcon.com
|
 | A
new mini pitched powered transfer system should be reviewed if you are
having product transfer problems with small products. This unique
design has the smallest pitch modular belt design available anywhere
for its application. www.spantechllc.com
